Ms. Mutamba focuses her practice on representing private and governmental clients with respect to human resources matters, representing landlords and tenants in housing-related matters, filing immigrant petitions and visa and adjustments of status, and assisting families plan for the future by drafting advanced directives, wills and creating trusts. 

As a labor and employment lawyer, she regularly counsels her clients regarding day-to-day human resources matters, including disciplinary and termination decisions and wage and hour compliance. She also represents clients’ interests in collective bargaining negotiations, arbitration, and responding to claims of unfair labor practices.  In addition, Ms. Mutamba has counsels and advises her clients to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor law compliance.  She also regularly responds to charges of discrimination filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations on behalf of her clients.

Ms. Mutamba was born and raised in Canton, OH, the home of the NFL’s Football Hall of Fame. She received a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from the University of Akron. Before beginning her legal career, she worked for a fortune 500 company in its human resources department where she advised hiring managers in the areas of training, recruitment, selection, and termination.

Ms. Mutamba is an alumna of the University of Miami School of Law. During her time at the University of Miami School of Law, she earned a CALI Award for Excellence in Human Rights Law, was recognized on the Dean’s List for academic excellence, and tapped into the Society of Bar and Gavel, an organization that recognizes students who demonstrate exemplary character, service to others, positive attitude, and leadership. In addition, she represented the law school dring mock trial competitions as a member of the Mock Trial Team.  Finally, Ms. Mutamba served as a committee chairperson for the Black Law Students Association.

Before founding MDM Legal, PLLC, Ms. Mutamba worked at a boutique law firm advising municipalities and private businesses on matters related to labor and employment.  In addition, she worked as an Assistant City Attorney where she practiced labor and employment and workers’ compensation law.  There she gained valuable experience drafting a variety of human resource policies and procedures, ordinances, and resolutions.  Prior to gaining legal experience in labor and employment matters, Ms. Mutamba litigated housing discrimination and landlord-tenant matters, as well as drafted estate planning documents.

Ms. Mutamba is very active in the legal community. She is a past president of the F. Malcolm Cunningham Sr. Bar Association, a former 15th Judicial Circuit Representative of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar Board of Governors, a former Associate Member and Pupilage Leader of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court, a former co-chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Committee for Diversity and Inclusion. She currently chairs the Employment Law CLE Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and is an Investigating Member for Grievance Committee E for the Florida Bar.

She is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and a proud foster parent.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, playing taboo, and mentoring.

Mr. Mutamba is an experienced immigration attorney with over a decade’s worth of experience handling complex issues for individuals and businesses alike.  He has represented clients across the country and beyond U.S. borders in obtaining a wide array of non-immigrant and immigrant visas, including but not limited to: student (F) visas; cultural exchange (J) visas; religious worker (R) visas; crewmember (D) visas; exceptional talent (O) visas; performing athlete, artist, entertainer (P) visas; specialty occupation (H-1B) visas;  intracompany transferee (L) visas; and treaty trader/treaty investor (E) visas. 

In addition to assisting clients with visa applications, Mr. Mutamba has also filed administrative appeals with the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO) of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and, when necessary, filed federal district court lawsuits and Circuit Courts of Appeals Petitions for Review against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its subordinate agencies, including the USCIS and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  He is also experienced in advancing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and lawsuits in furtherance of his client’s immigration cases.

Mr. Mutamba is currently a representative of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Board of Governors, and is member of the Florida Bar’s standing Committee on Media & Communications Law.  In his local community, Masimba is actively involved in the F. Malcolm Cunningham, Sr. Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s standing Committee for Diversity and Inclusion, and that Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.  

Masimba graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was an associate editor of the University of Miami International & Comparative Law Review. Masimba also obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Law, with distinction, from the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom.  He is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida, as well as several federal courts around the country, and is also admitted in the United States Supreme Court.  As an immigrant to the United States, Mr. Mutamba is passionate about helping individuals, families, and business navigate their way through the immigration system.
